This is the first studio offering from Serotheft, a local Burlington VT band. Bursting onto the scene, Serotheft has made a name for themselves with their live shows. After getting their name out and releasing live tracks for free download on the internet, Serotheft made the push into the studio this past winter. Starting in February, and working through April, Serotheft worked along side Bennett Shapiro, owner and operator of Lovetown Studios in Middlesex VT, to record their first studio effort. With Shapiro’s guidance and expertise, the boys were able to come up with a project they are proud to release. With the summer approaching Serotheft has packed their schedule with shows throughout the Northeast and hope to spread this album and their music. Be on the look out for upcoming dates throughout the area at: www.facebook.com/Serotheft.
Bursting out of the college party scene and onto dance floors across New England, Serotheft is quickly making a name for themselves playing sold out shows from their hometown of Burlington, VT to Boston, MA. With their unique blend of electronic, jam, and funk influences, Serotheft is a band on the rise. Now consisting of Devin Atcherley (drums), Ted Kenney (Guitar, Vocals), Derek Rice (Keys, Vocals), and Alex Greene (Bass), Serotheft originally began at St. Michaels College in the fall of 2009. During this time the band acted as a regular staple of the St. Mike’s and Burlington party scenes. Garnering attention from stories of their late night, laser filled parties, they began to gain a reputation.
After searching for their sound and experimenting with styles, the band found it’s focus and niche. This direction came with the addition of Derek on the keys, rounding out the bands sound as a powerhouse of energy, delivering a unique balance of the individual members’ musical influences.
Since their true inception in beginning of 2011, Serotheft has been hard at work building their repertoire and song catalog. They have shared the stage with acts such as The Easy Star All Stars, Kung Fu, Twiddle, Bernie Worrell, The Manhattan Project, Toubab Krewe, The Human Canvas, The Heavy Pets, Jeff Bujak, Barika, Jimkata, Turbine, along with countless others.
The boys have finished recording and mixing their debut EP and it will be available on tour with them this summer. With shows in the works to support the album, 2013 is shaping up to be a season where the band is set to conquer stages far and wide. Stay tuned to the website and Facebook for all of our dates and news. Catch us on the road and prepare for the rage.
The Edd is a group of four musicians based out of Burlington, VT. Over the past four years
they been bringing some of the most unique “electronic space rock” to the Northeast, sharing
the stage with acts such as Papadosio, Dopapod, and Consider the Source. Their music is a
combination of highly improvised sections, exploration of sound and extremely tight, often
complexly structured, original songs.
In crafting their music, they demonstrate mastery of unusual sounds, scales and time
signatures giving them a distinct sound in the “jamband” scene. The result is nothing short of
spectacular weird music that captures and moves audiences of all preferences. Live Shows are
always high energy, a guaranteed good time and the best way to truly experience The Edd!
