After spending her youth developing her craft as a singer/multi instrumentalist touring with the likes of Jon Anderson (Yes), Gibby Haynes (Butthole Surfers), Napoleon Murphy Brock (Frank Zappa), and Perry Farrell (Jane’s Addiction), Jenny Founds joined Start Making Sense: A tribute to Talking Heads and discovered the perfect musicians to join forces with, the brother duo of Jon & Jesse Braun (of Start Making Sense, Insidious Rays, & Great White Caps). After playing together for years on the road paying tribute to some incredible music, these seasoned musicians have crafted original material that is loud and evolving.
PREECE is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Sean Preece and producer Jer Coons. Based in Burlington, VT, the duo aims to recapture the angst and elation of their adolescence with their brand of unabashed pop-punk. The sound of sunny southern California in the late-nineties, bred in the clouds of northern Vermont in the aughts. On the record, Preece performs nearly every instrument, from blistering blast beats on the drums, to driving bass lines, buzzsaw guitar chords and infectious lead vocals. Guiding the process from behind the board, Coons assisted Preece in channeling the sounds of their teenage years into a modern pop-punk aesthetic that is fast, loud, and – most importantly – fun. Live, the two are joined by bassist Dan Bishop and drummer Dan Smith, with Coons on lead guitar and Preece taking the reigns as frontman & guitarist. PREECE’s debut “Bad Choices Make Good Stories” is due out this fall.
