Around 2013, Rumblecat appeared mysteriously on the side of the road somewhere between Macon, Motown, and New York City. They hitched a ride to Burlington, VT, tried some beer and maple syrup, and decided to stay a while. Their music is a funky rock’n’roll gumbo seasoned with sweet harmonies, sizzling solos, and hearty grooves.
They’ve shared bills with such diverse acts as Fuel, Popa Chubby, and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band. Rumblecat was awarded “Best in State: Vermont” at the 2016 New England Music Awards. Their debut album, ‘Til the Neighbors Shout, was released in April 2016.
Michael Vincent Band
The Michael Vincent Band is a tight knit group of friends that have been playing together since 2005. Within 3 years of meeting each other they had formed a band together, Michael Vincent and Doubleshot, and they were regulars on the local music scene. They have countless musical influences, some of which can be heard in their own music. Artists like Stevie Ray Vaughan were very influential early on, but as they grew they progressed to the older blues with artists such as Otis Rush, Johnnie Taylor, Buddy Guy, and of course Freddie King and B.B. King. Tab Benoit, Doyle Bramhall Jr. and Warren Haynes are some newer artists that have also been inspirations for the band. The Michael Vincent Band has found that home is where the blues is, and they thrive playing the music that they learned from listening to these other artists they revere and look up to.
In 2008, they opened the show for some of their idols Eric Burdon of the Animals and WAR, and the late Jack Bruce of the band Cream at Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion at Meadowbrook. Since then they have shared the stage with Blues Legends such as the late Johnny Winter (Plymouth, NH 2014), Eddie Kirkland (Pensacola Beach, FL 2012), Elvin Bishop (Thornton, NH 2010), Tab Benoit (Gulfport, MS 2013; Plymouth, NH 2016), and Dave Mason (Plymouth, NH 2012), one of the original members of Traffic. They have also played some of the most prestigious clubs in the country, including Buddy Guy’s Legends Club, Chicago IL; The Bradfordville Blues Club, Bradfordville FL; Hog’s Breath Saloon, Key West FL; Ground Zero Blues Club, Clarksdale MS; Bourbon Street Boogie & Blues Bar, Nashville TN; The Florabama, Orange Beach FL; Antone’s, Austin TX; and many many others all over the Eastern US.
Formed at UVM in September of 2015, Jeddy has been rocking shows with their loaded mix of classic rock/pop and experimental jam tunes. Not including basment shows and UVM events, Jeddy has played numerous clubs around downtown including Radio Bean, Zen Lounge, SideBar, Nectar’s, Club Metronome and more. Notable venues outside of their hometown include Castlerock Pub and the Green Mountain Lodge at Sugarbush, The Middle East in Boston, and The Java Barn at Saint Lawrence University. Jeddy has come a long way since their first practices in the dorms of UVM’s Redstone Campus, and strive to provide a fun, energetic, and intimate experience at every show. Their motto is “good people, good music and good times” and they can’t wait to share it with you!
