Seven Leaves began at Saint Michael’s college in the fall of 2014. As a group of like-minded and inspired individuals, we began playing music outside together at our campus’ picnic tables. As our musical chemistry began to bubble, new opportunities presented themselves to us, and we decided to become a band. We would call ourselves Seven Leaves in honor of our favorite seven-leaved herb, and also the leafy nature of Vermont. We got our first gig at Saint Mike’s on-campus venue, “Turtle Underground” for a Grateful Dead cover night. We’ve evolved so much since then, and played many more Turtle Underground gigs along side our good friends, Cosmosis Jones. Our sound developed into the eclectic, and multi cultural reggae/rock jam blast it is today, and we hope to continue playing always for the love of music.
Fovea is comprised of Steven Shaw on bass and vocals, Jake Denicola on drums, Halley Furlong-Mitchell on vocals and keys, and Max Weigel on guitar, synthesizers and vocals. Taking an art rock approach to shoegaze, jazz, punk, and electronic music, Fovea abstracts human situations into tunes that transcend, trump and laugh at our situations. We sing of identity crises, the internet, suburban malaises and more in English, French, or whatever other languages suit our given topics. Live and in the studio, we embrace fluidity through improvisation.
Like their name, Ellen Degenerates are a band of juxtapositions; chunky/smooth, peaks/valleys, radio-ready rock n’ roll numbers/psychedelic noise journeys.
