The Karina Rykman Experiment

“Karina has been slaying the bass in the Marco Benevento trio since 2016. After Ween reunited in February ’16, she was hand picked by Ween bassist Dave Dreiwitz to replace him in Marco’s band. A big Ween fan independently of this, Karina humbly explained it is one of her greatest honors to even be approached for the opportunity. Since then, Karina has toured the country (and the UK) with Benevento, playing headlining shows, festival sets, and opening for bands on tour such as Dispatch, Vulfpeck, The Claypool Lennon Delirium, Guster, and Moon Hooch. Karina has also gotten the opportunity to play alongside musicians such as Robert Randolph, Eric Krasno, John Medeski, Billy Martin, Nels Cline, Skerik, Joe Russo, Jackie Greene, Alan Evans, Grahame Lesh, Scott Metzger, members of The Disco Biscuits, moe., Snarky Puppy, and many more.

When not on stage with Marco’s band, Karina stays busy and well-balanced in other areas across the music industry. A recent NYU Gallatin graduate with a degree in Music Invention and Distribution in May 2016, she produces live shows as the General Manager for live music/party boat extraordinaires, Rocks Off, she can be found DJing around NYC, and has directed and produced an interview series for Toronto-based guitar-gear gurus ToneConcepts with Nels Cline of Wilco, Dweezil Zappa, Jim Campilongo and more. For a high school project, she produced an engaging four-part video interview series featuring Tomato of Sound Of Urchin, Alex Skolnick of Testament, and Phish frontman Trey Anastasio. She started The Karina Rykman Experiment in 2018, a trio comprised of Adam November and Chris Corsico.

If you’re old-school, Karina – who was born in 1993 – should give you some hope for the future. If you’re new-school, it should be known that while Karina is a millennial by definition, she is positive and hard-working, which definitely goes against the norm. Karina is living the life she loves and in doing so, is inspiring so many along the way.”

Kudu Stooge

Kudu Stooge plays rock music, writes songs, and puts on heavy hitting live shows, complete with a handcrafted DIY light rig. Formed in Burlington VT, they just released their second self recorded album, “Looming Essence”. Their sound is shaped by psych-rock, funk, and jazz. A pairing of funky fresh bass and savagely precise drums lay down a thick rhythmic backdrop for a ripping lead section composed of two shredding, dynamic guitarists, and a melodic master on saxophone and keys.
