MAYA | DIRTYBIRD | AZTEC TRIBALIZM | CROSS TOWN REBELS BROOKLYN, NYC
Change is inevitable, and nowhere is this more prevalent than in the world of dance music. Analog gives way to digital, trends come and go, yet NYC’s DJ Joeski remains at the top of his game, and now, amid his fourth decade as one of House music’s most sought-after stars, his momentum shows no signs of slowing.
Joeski’s trajectory can be traced back to 1991, when he burst onto the NYC house music scene as a founding member of The Chocolate Factory DJ collective. He delighted crowds at Limelight, Tunnel, Palladium and NASA, helped turn “Save The Robots” into a NYC afterhours institution and earned his first residency at “Together” parties at the legendary Roxy, playing alongside the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Louie Vega, and Roger Sanchez.
Already a fixture on the U.S. and Canadian club circuit, in the late 90’s Joeski added production to his repertoire, building his own recording studio and spending the next few years mastering his craft. In 2000 he burst into the clubs and onto the charts with hit after hit on Electrik Soul, Siesta, Chez and Camouflage, emerging as one of the most sought-after DJs, remixers, and producers in the scene. In 2001 Joeski launched Maya Records, with releases like “Hustler’s Revenge” and his collaboration with DJ Chus on “El Amor” propelling the label onto the forefront of the U.S. house music sound that would become a global phenomenon and win him worldwide acclaim from
clubbers and fellow DJs alike. Demand for his studio skills has grown exponentially over the past two decades, with Joeski producing and remixing on many of the industry’s most influential labels, including Ministry of Sound, Defected, Bedrock, Nervous, Cajual, Relief, KMS, Compost, Hot Creations, Poker Flat, Crosstown Rebels, Dirtybird, Suara and Desert Hearts. Such a strong and consistent studio output has helped catapult him further into the ranks of the house music elite.
Now in its 20th year, his Maya label continues to release a steady output of quality material that remain fixtures on the Beatport and Traxsource tech and deep house charts. 2021 also saw his creation of Aztec Tribalism Recordings, as an outlet for deep, tribal, and afro leaning house music.
Fueled by his genuine love of the music and his hard work through the years, there’s no doubt that Joeski will continue to play a major role both behind the decks and in the studio, captivating new generations of club-goers and maintaining his place as one of dance music’s most enduring talents.
DENON DJ | IZOTOPE | TRAKTOR – SAN DIEGO, CA
There are individuals who are early adopters, then there are those who are innovators. Mike Henderson aka ENDO falls into the latter category. A ubiquitous figure in electronic dance music for going on two decades, ENDO is a musician, a DJ, a teacher, an inventor, and a visionary.
A graduate of Berklee College of Music with a degree in electronic music production and music synthesis and a lifelong drummer, ENDO’s technical know-how is an inherent gift. He serves as a product specialist for the always innovative audio technology company iZotope and as an online DJ instructor for his alma mater, Berklee Online. He has an ongoing relationship with Native Instruments as a certified Native specialist, having trained the likes of Carl Cox, Grandmaster Flash, Danny Tenaglia, and David Morales on Traktor. He has contributed greatly to the accuracy of Mixed in Key’s algorithm. He is also the co-founder of the evolutionary mapping
platform, MIDI Monsters, and the booking platform, AGNT. “My sets are all harmonic progression,” says ENDO. “Every song is in key, or intentionally out of key, modulated harmonically. You can subliminally play with people’s emotions with harmonic mixing. There’s all this tension, then you give them the harmonic release. You must tell your story. You must find the songs that speak to you. That’s the art form, the intuition of a good DJ.”
ENDO has unleashed his patented brand of harmonic mixing at events across the globe including: Pacha, Marquee, and Cielo in New York, Sound in Los Angeles, Guvernment and Coda in Toronto, Stereo in Montreal, Spybar in Chicago, Heart in Miami, Sands in Ibiza, Club Vertigo in Costa Rica, as well as BPM Festival in Mexico and Electric Festival in Aruba. He has played alongside John Digweed, DJ Craze, Roc Raida, Victor Calderone, Danny Tenaglia, Carl Cox, Chus & Ceballos, Eric Prydz, to name just a few, and perhaps given them a much-sought-after technical tip or two in the process.
PURR CLUB SOCIAL | LISTED – MONTREAL, QC
International DJ and veteran of the Montreal electronic music scene for over 20 years, MightyKat has no problem commanding a dance floor with well-curated selections that span eclectic house, rare disco cuts, the funkier side of techno, and beyond. Her versatility is further demonstrated by her equal abilities to warm up a room, close out a night, or control the primetime slot at clubs, festivals, and afterhours alike.
Shortly after starting her vinyl collection, MightyKat founded the wildly successful ‘Dizzy’ night at Salon Daomé in the early 00’s for 4 years, presenting to Montreal to now-legendary names like Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, Zip, Sonja Moonear, and Sammy Dee. Through the years, MightyKat has also shared a bill with Doc Martin, Atish, Maya Jane Cole, Cassy, Bedouin, Derrick Carter, Ryan Crosson, Matthew Dear, Art Department, Anja Schneider, and Blondish to name just a few. Now with her popular sunset party ‘Purr Club Social’ in Montréal for 5 years, continued as a weekly livestream for 52
episodes during the lockdown. She also lent her talents to the Listed Takeover of Desert Hearts TV Twitch this past spring.
In addition to frequent appearances at Montreal’s premiere club Stereo, she has been heard laying down grooves at prestigious venues across the continental US and beyond such as Club der Visionaere (Berlin), KaterBlau (Berlin), The Brooklyn Mirage
(Brooklyn), Output/Panther Room (Brooklyn), Flash (DC), Do Not Sit on the Furniture (Miami), La Santanera (Playa del Carmen), Batofar (Paris), The Midway (SF), Monarch (SF), and many more. She has left her mark on Piknic Électronik/Igloofest (Montreal), the BPM Festival, SXM Festival, Sanctuary (Tulum) WMC’s infamous Ship of Fools/Listed parties, and underground outfit Resolute, plus Burning Man appearances at Mayan Warrior, Music Savages, The Kazbah, and the celebrated “Tutu Tuesday” party with Atish. We are so incredibly excited to be welcoming MIGHTYKAT to the “Sunday Night Mass” stage, or the very first time for her Vermont Debut set!!
